hm, i like #1 and #3 - i like #2 but you always have that odd duck w0t's resolution is set on "total crap" and the 3 column thing makes them scroll right.

that being said the, the first one looks more like a store (it could be the product on the front page but i cant help being reminded of an llbean catalogue), and the third one looks more like a site about people.

make sense? does that help? :D i like #3 best. it's clean enough to be simple and eye-catching enough to be pleasing.

very cool. i like #2, simple easy. perhaps with somewhat transparent photos top and bottom where the background is now and have only maybe 20 or so pixels of background as a border.

but, like sheryl says, #3 is cool too. anyway take my advice w/ a grain or two... you know how difficult i can be -you used to work w/ me.

I agree that #2 needs some photo bg to spice up its life. when I put together that comp, I had no decent pics to include, and was even trying to come up with designs that wouldn't require pics. now I have a couple few decent shots that will serve nicely. I may make a #2a with a fixed, nonrepeating background gif in the blue field.

oh, and each of the squares will probably be 250px or 300px on a side, so poor saps with teeny monitorz can still read pretty much everything. :-P
