The whole thing about "payday" loans is believable. It also suggests desperate times in Ohio and a lack of knowledge of how that system works. They used to be something that was seen downtown or in the "inner-city", carry-outs offering "check cashing" or the aforementioned "loans". Now I find them in middle-class and upper class areas. They exist basically because there is a loop hole in a law somewhere. They are nothing but preditory lenders, worse than the credit card industry or the sub-prime mortgage companies.
