Realized last night that I never actually tested the slightly beat-up Rollei 35 I bought on eBay last year. The light meter doesn’t work, but that’s OK.
This turned out much better than I’d expected. Sharpie fine-point pen and crayons, using a reference pic from Google Images.

It’s about three miles round-trip from my office downtown, but the long lunch walk is well worth it.

What I had thought were rogue weeds around a dead shrub turned out to be suckers (or new basal growth?) from the not-quite-dead dwarf flowering almond. Beautiful display, even if it only lasted for a few days.
Two kalanchoes, both alike in dignity… One remained in the sunroom over the summer, and one lived outdoors in a pot.
The outdoor kalanchoe is currently in a larger pot than the one in which it spent its summer, and is spending the winter in our front foyer, sporting a multitude of teeny greenish white flower buds ready to open.
The sunroom kalanchoe, while tall and spindly, has been in full bloom for weeks now.
This kalanchoe is the only bloom I have to share for Garden Bloggers’ Bloom Day this month, but hopefully I’ll have some forced forsythia and crocus blooms for February!
Sometimes, if you wait on the MLK Bridge just long enough, a gull will fly into your composition just where you hoped it would.
