:: aftermath of the U-Haul incident ::
march 2004

Note: I only wish I'd had the digital camera handy at the time.
For details, see the blog post about The Move.

Across the street from our house still resides the evidence
of a 24-foot U-haul having been stuck there.

At the time of the stickage, everyone was focused on the rear tires.
We even located some play sand the sellers had left behind and
tried to fill in the damp holes to create traction. But alas, no luck.

After the U-Haul had been removed, we noticed that the front tires
had done much more damage than we'd originally reckoned.
This is the mark left by the front passenger's side tire.
(The beer can rolled in after the fact, but adds scale to the photo.)

And, finally, the grand-daddy of them all, the driver's-side front tire rut.

Postscript: Mayberry Towing is good. If you need a tow, call them.
Ray's Towing is bad. If you want a towing company to stand you up, call them.
