This evening’s bookbinding experiment involved a technique I learned about from Four Keys Book Arts on YouTube. I see myself trying this again in the future… but maybe not with upcycled custom wall calendar pages.

Returning to my bookbinding hobby after a couple years’ hiatus. I was inspired by the packaging for a blind box figurine I picked up recently, which I thought would make SUCH a cute notebook.
And here we are!
I’ve discovered that having the right tools, working slowly and methodically, and being patient are the keys to getting a passable result with a minimum of frustration.
(Not just in bookbinding, but in Life.)

Cloudless sky, 65 degrees… This is a welcome change from the recent heat wave.

A family of mourning doves has taken up residence in one of the bushes by our front door.
Thankfully, Mama Dove is a scaredy bird, and isn’t at all aggressive like the family of robins that nested on the front light fixture several years back.

Baxter’s going to be sad and confused when we take down the Christmas tree later this week. Either that, or he’ll be glad to see his world go back to normal again.
His favorite thing to do during the holidays is to hide behind the tree and launch a surprise attack on whichever unsuspecting family member enters the living room.
