Baxter really enjoys being in the bathroom with his humans. Every morning, he jumps up on my shoulders while I’m brushing my teeth.
Sometimes, after Aaron showers, Baxter will jump into the still-wet bathtub and roll around or lick at the water droplets.
Funny how every cat is peculiar in their own special way.
Snuggled up with my kitty, enjoying the view of the winter sun on last night’s snow.
Most mornings, I’ll sit in the comfy chair in the family room, my computer on my lap, my snuggly kitty tucked into the perfectly-sized spot to my left. Today, though, I decided to sit on the loveseat and just look out at the snow. Baxter thought that was a fine idea, and decided to join me.
He’ll take just about any opportunity to climb up on my shoulder or lay on my chest, really. Even when I’m at my standing desk. The photo below is from mid-October 2024, when I was walking on my treadmill while working, and he decided to trust-flop from my shoulder down into my arms.
Baxter snuggles aren’t always convenient or well-timed, but I love them just the same.
Baxter likes to weave himself in and out of the stair railing, often walking up the outside edge instead of up the middle like the rest of us.
He’s even been known to jump off the side of the staircase, although we do try to keep him from jumping from too high up.
Baxter’s newest toy is a motion-activated flopping fish, and it’s his new favorite thing. He’ll attack it with bunny-kicks, or he’ll carry it in his mouth and drop it at our feet.
(Also, Aaron reminded me today of this gem that we watched at a long-ago anime convention, which is where I got the title of this post.)
