Usually my Bloom Day photos are close-ups like this one, showcasing the pops of color in my beds and borders. This time, though, I decided to go out and take some quick snapshots of my various plantings as a whole. I’ve done very little spring cleanup at this point, so I’m posting these as-is, warts and all.

Connor constructed this rocket for Baxter during his day off from school. He borrowed my folding protractor-ruler to exactly measure the angles he needed for the nose cone/pyramid (so he must be internalizing some of that geometry he’s been learning).
Assembly of the rocket involved my (very cheap) hot glue gun, Elmer’s glue (when we ran out of glue sticks), and gaffer’s tape (when the Elmer’s was taking too long to dry).
I’m still not entirely convinced that Baxter enjoys being rocketed around the house in a box, but I could be wrong.

Baxter is the first cat I’ve known to actually sit in the bathroom sink.
I’ll be curious to see if he does this more frequently in the summer, when it’s warmer… but cats prefer temps hotter than humans do, so maybe it’s not a matter of enjoying the coolness of the sink?
