What I had thought were rogue weeds around a dead shrub turned out to be suckers (or new basal growth?) from the not-quite-dead dwarf flowering almond. Beautiful display, even if it only lasted for a few days.

What I had thought were rogue weeds around a dead shrub turned out to be suckers (or new basal growth?) from the not-quite-dead dwarf flowering almond. Beautiful display, even if it only lasted for a few days.
Somehow, I left this little gem out of my May Bloom Day post: Brunnera, aka false forget-me-not.
Finally got last Fall’s four rolls of film developed! I took the Blackbird,fly out on our October date afternoon to Ann Arbor; I’d originally planned to take my Lomo LC-A, but the Lomo wasn’t recognizing fresh batteries that day, so the Blackbird filled in as pinch-hitter.
