This is the first Trentino has bloomed, after being forgotten in the basement for a year and then properly potted for another year. She’s quite beautiful — I find I like the delicate and subtle green-to-pink shading more than the vibrant red of her big sisters Christmas Star (also currently in bloom) and Ragtime.
Behold! My latest purchase from Wish!

Yes, it actually fits! In Asian sizes, I’m a 3X… possibly a 4X if I want more room.
Also, I must admit that this hoodie makes me think of the Kitty Cat Dance.
(Thanks to the Know Your Meme link above, I now know what he’s saying in the lines that aren’t “Cat, I’m a kitty cat, and I dance dance dance and I dance dance dance”)

One of my first goals for 2019 was to make a garment from a commercial pattern. For some reason, I was developing a mental block against actually digging into the stash of easy patterns I’ve purchased from Goodwill and garage sales. I’ve made clothes for my son from PDF patterns online, and I’ve drafted my own patterns (with guidance from Melly), but I hadn’t yet taken my scissors to the antique tissue paper that is ’80’s-era sewing patterns.
As I suspected, I really had nothing to fear.

My phone was in its usual dashboard cradle this morning when I saw this fiery sunrise. I dared to switch from my iPod to the camera app, but only got a few quick shots before I gave up and refocused my full attention on the road.
