The Burning Bush

OMFG. Go download this fantastic story, written by Jennifer Pelland, read by Deborah Green. Best short story EVAR. An excerpt:

“The thing is,” he said, gesturing at the book, “there’s no proof in here. It’s all just faith. My scientific mind demands rational proof!”

“What will it take?” I asked. “A burning bush?”

And then my pubic hair caught fire.

Warning: if your sense of humor regarding religion is lacking, if you are squeamish about slang referents to a woman’s pubic mound, or if you are a devout Catholic, you might want to pass on this one. I doubt that very many of my readers fall in any of these categories, though, so go download and have fun. Not work-safe.

New Camera Self-Portrait

Self-portrait on walking path at Arrowhead Park, Maumee OH || ActionSampler

I picked up this little four-panel camera at Savers for 99ยข a few weeks back. This was one of the test shots I took over my lunch break, while walking in a local park. I’m impressed with the focal length, as this shot was taken at arm’s-length, a distance that makes most of my cameras cringe in blurry horror.

After only a moment of research this evening, I think I may actually have an honest-to-god Lomo ActionSampler. All the details of this unlabeled thrift-store find look exactly like the cameras on the lomography website.

Fantastic!

Brief Hiatus

There is a distinct possibility that I may be posting less over the next couple of weeks, as I really need to get the Lakeshoremen website ready for its October 1st launch date.

I thought it was all just busywork left, but I apparently still have some troubleshooting to do. I’m going to spend another evening on this particular problem of mine, then if I haven’t figured out why my variables aren’t talking to each other, I’ll ask my geeky homies to get my back.

So, updates will be limited in the very near future, unless something really fascinating happens in the next couple weeks (and I wouldn’t count that out entirely) or unless I really get a bug up my ass about something (again, don’t rule that out either, as I do have a couple blog entries brewing in my head).

In that same vein: if you’ve e-mailed me recently and I haven’t responded, don’t worry. I still love you. You don’t suck. I suck.

But, right now, I sleep.
