2009 marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Workbook, and also the release of Bob Mould’s latest, yet-untitled solo work, set for an April 7th street date. Produced and mixed by Mould in his new hometown of Washington D.C, the album is filled with Mould’s experiences in relation to friends, lovers, the world at large and himself.

On March 11, Bob Mould will be performing at Carnegie Hall for The Music of R.E.M. – a benefit concert for the Music Education Programs for Underprivileged Youth. The concert covers the songs of R.E.M. which led the underground American music movement with a constant stream of hit records. Also performing at the concert: Throwing Muses with Kristen Hersh, Kimya Dawson, Ingrid Michaelson, Glenn Hansard, The Apples in Stereo, Tommy James and the Shondells, Jolie Holland, Keren Ann, Guster, The dB’s, Vic Chesnutt & Elf Power, Rachel Yamagata, Calexico, Patti Smith, and more.
