Graduation Day
I first met Aaron’s cousin Caitlin at Christmas in 2002, before Aaron and I were married. We were all milling around the door, saying our goodbyes, when she decided to try on my Converse and walk around in them, clown-shoe-style.

Some seventeen years later…

Hadouken!
I missed a call from the karate / Krav Maga dojo this week because I didn’t have them in my contacts. I decided to right that this weekend, and shared my sense of humor on Facebook:

May in the Garden
I’m filing this under Bloom Day, even though I didn’t actually get out on the 15th to photograph the blooms in my garden. These photos were taken on the Friday before Memorial Day, when I had a day off to do some weeding.

I can always tell if spring is earlier or later than usual by when the tree peony blooms. A later spring means she’s in bloom for Memorial Day.
1st Grade Circus
My son’s elementary school has a time-honored tradition of the first-graders performing an outdoor circus for both their parents and for the kindergarten classes. Connor was a clown — his friend J was a strongman, and his friend W was a snake charmer. There were also lions, elephants, seals, acrobats, and musical monkeys.
I didn’t snag the best seat in the house for photography — somebody’s mom’s head was in my way — so I mostly just got lots of photos of my little Cleaning Clown.
