This was Monday morning. Even after I called his name and opened the blinds, he was still completely out.
He’s had this twin bed since he was little, and seeing him all sprawled across it now is kind of surreal. In a cool kind of way.

Deer sighting in my back yard! Mama and four adolescents, for a total of FIVE deer in my yard just now. At least one of the kiddos had cute little antler nubs.
They ate some weeds, munched on the yew a little, and sampled the grape hyacinths before Mama saw us watching and sauntered away from the house.
I uploaded the photos before Christmas Day was even over, but never quite got past the first line of copy:
“My Mom had already given us notice on Thanksgiving that she wouldn’t be driving out to see us on Christmas this year.”
Instead of leaving these memories to languish in my Drafts folder, I’m opting to share them now, with captions for context.
It was a low-key Christmas, but a relatively merry one that deserves to be remembered.
My work-from-home snuggle buddy came to say hi. I can still use both hands to type, as long as he’s perfectly balanced.
Saw this mug at Goodwill yesterday. While there have been several recent retirements from my work, I couldn’t think of anyone for whom this would be an appropriate gift.
I am, however, filing this gem away for the next time someone close to me needs a custom retirement gift.
