Here in Ohio, I like to remind people that the last snow often happens on or around my birthday, in late April.
Surprisingly, even though Aaron’s birthday is well within the range of first-snow dates, he said he couldn’t recall it actually snowing on his birthday before this year.
Well, that was something: I got to lead Connor’s black belt boot camp briefly this morning while Mr. Turner was attending to a sick/injured student.
Connor met his fellow black belt candidates at sunrise to begin fitness testing with a mile run. The weather was absolutely beautiful.
We haven’t had a killing frost yet in my Zone 6 garden, so David Austin Heritage English Rose still has a few flushes of bloom! She’s also setting some very large orange hips that should feed a few hungry animals this winter.
The sunrise was so striking this morning that I felt compelled to stop and take a photo not once but twice: once after dropping my son off at school, and again after arriving at work.
