I took the following photos on Bloom Day, which is the 15th of the month — after which I realized that I’d (temporarily) lost my mojo for processing digital photos on my desktop computer, since I’m so accustomed to uploading them via my phone. Silly HEIC image format, throwing a wrench into the works…
At any rate, here they are… mostly so Future Me can remember what was in bloom in August 2020.











I think I’ll build a tomato trellis every year from now on. Maybe two. I love the look of it, and how the tomatoes just vine right up it, and how I can even attach the zucchini vines to it with a little twine.

I started some Nasturtiums from seed this year, to pick up on the color of the dwarf Japanese maple in the Early Spring border (which isn’t particularly colorful in the summer).
This is the only bloom so far, but I do like the pop of color it adds. Hopefully the chipmunks don’t eat it right away.

Sun Sugar wins the award for first ripe tomato of the 2020 season, with Early Girl not far behind!
