We haven’t had a killing frost yet in my Zone 6 garden, so David Austin Heritage English Rose still has a few flushes of bloom! She’s also setting some very large orange hips that should feed a few hungry animals this winter.

Obtained in January 2022 as a replacement for the iPhone 7. This was my main camera for almost two years, until I upgraded to an iPhone 12 Pro in November 2023.
Sunrise at School and Work
The sunrise was so striking this morning that I felt compelled to stop and take a photo not once but twice: once after dropping my son off at school, and again after arriving at work.
The first photo I took while standing next to my car; the second I took from a conference room in my office building, after getting off the elevator but before making my way to my desk.
Baxter’s Bad Day
Baxter got to visit the vet today, and I have never seen him so freaked out. He was jumping at every sound and smell, and didn’t even want to stay in my arms (or on my shoulders). He got two vaccines today, plus the vet looked in his eyes and ears and mouth and even where the sun don’t shine.
The good news is that he’s a healthy kitty — and hopefully he’ll be even healthier after we start feeding him his expensive new kibble to fix his tummy troubles. The bad news is that he was so scared he pissed in his cat carrier. Poor kitty.
Final Stretch
Connor ran in the year’s first Elementary Cross Country Meet yesterday. He didn’t place, but he did finish, and that’s what really matters.
